This was taken when Robert went on his first overseas deployment on the USS Rogers
(DD-876) during 1966. The ship spent the majority of its time in the northern
portion of the Gulf of Tonkin performing search and rescue for downed pilot. We
spent some time doing gun fire support for the folks that were engaged in ground fighting.
